The Department of Environment has developed guidelines to assist in managing air quality in Western Australia.

Ambient Air Quality Guidelines

The Departments of Environment and Health have commenced a joint program to develop ambient air quality guideline values for non-criteria air pollutants in WA.

The purpose of this guideline is to describe methodology acceptable to the Western Australian Department of Environment for odour sampling and analysis using dynamic olfactometry. The guideline presents some principles of odour science before describing the accepted methodology in Western Australia for measurement and assessment of odour impacts for a range of situations. Reporting requirements are also included.
