Environmental Quality Monitoring Program

Basic information on monitoring programs contributing data and information to the Environmental Quality Monitoring Program in Cockburn Sound has been compiled for 2002/2003. Monitoring conducted by industry groups, local, state and federal government has been included in the document titled Cockburn Sound Environmental Quality Monitoring Program 2002/2003. Information on the procedures for accessing monitoring data and on the current monitoring data outputs and reporting mechanisms used by the Cockburn Sound Management Council has also been included.

	Environmental Management Plan for Cockburn Sound and its Catchment In response to increasing pressures on the Sound, the Western Australian Government released a State Enviromental Policy which outlines the environmental values, objectives and criteria for managing Cockburn Sound. The Policy requires that an Environmental Management Plan for Cockburn Sound and its catchment be prepared by the Cockburn Sound Management Council.

	The Full Report This report presents the findings of detailed surveys which were undertaken to: Accurately map the benthic coverage and assemblages of the Eastern Shelf, Cockburn Sound for summer 2004, using sidescan sonar and extensive groundtruthing.

	The Community Summary Paper CSMC commissioned DAL Science and Engineering (DALSE) to undertake a groundtruthing survey of the Sound's eastern margin.
