Esperance lead issue updates

The Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) recognises the high level of interest in the Esperance community following mass bird deaths.

Government response to report on Esperance lead pollution
The Western Australian Government has released its response to the Western Australian Legislative Assembly Education and Health Standing Committee’s report in relation to the cause and extent of lead pollution in the Esperance area.

The response includes an outline of the steps the Government will take to lift standards and to better manage the transport and export of potentially dangerous goods through WA Ports.
