Note: A statutory declaration can be used as a legal statement refuting an infringement. The Oaths, Affidavits and Statutory Declarations Act 2005 governs the use of statutory declarations. Any person who knowingly makes a false statutory declaration commits an offence and this offence carries significant penalties including imprisonment.
