Entry into these awards provided numerous benefits not only for the organisation taking part but also for others who learnt from their experiences and commitment to tackling the issue of plastic bags.
The Plastic Bag Reduction Awards 2006 were open to community groups, schools, businesses (including retailers) and all levels of government who demonstrated a genuine commitment to address the issues of the profligate use of plastic bags. All projects were implemented during the period 1 June 2005 to 31 August 2006.
The Plastic Bag Reduction Awards 2006 were coordinated by the National Keep Australia Beautiful Organisation. These awards do not occur every year. To learn more about this award program check out the National website: www.kab.org.au
